Hey there!
I would like to share the personal story behind how I became convinced the ph360 and SHAE epigenetics approach works for me.
Approximately three and half years ago, I decided to take myself off the birth control pill. My serious relationship had just broken up and I was becoming more interested in natural health and less interested with ingesting synthetic hormones. I had been on the pill since the age of 15 when my doctor prescribed it to me to help regulate my teenaged rollercoaster of a menstrual cycle. It was a personal choice to go off the pill, and I chose to eliminate it from my routine. I was curious how my body and natural cycle would react.
I stopped taking the pill in October 2013 and immediately following, I stopped having my “moon cycle”. When I shared this with my close friends and loved ones the response was typically that I must be really stressed. But I felt I was no more stressed after going off the pill than I did while taking the pill. I took relaxing vacations such as this fabulous spa getaway retreat with my sister. But, after two years of being ignored by a female’s favourite aunt, I finally decided to book an appointment with my family doctor to see what was up.
I thought maybe it was PCOS (poly cystic ovarian syndrome)? He sent me to see a specialist where I had scans and bloodwork done. The results came back that everything was fine – no issues with my ovaries, or hormone levels, no PCOS. I returned to my family doctor with the specialist report and he admitted he was stumped. All seemed fine. He couldn’t find a reason for my lack of a menstrual cycle except one thing – I was overweight. Fair enough. I knew I was overweight. As I said, I wasn’t too concerned about not getting my period – it was actually quite nice not to have to deal with it! LOL
About six months after this discussion with my doctor, I signed up for ph360. I digitally stumbled across it, and from the first 5 minutes listening to their approach and the science, I felt deep down inside it made so much sense.
I was hooked.
I leapt into action on the program and starting incorporating as much of the guidance as I could. I felt better than I had in years.
And wouldn’t you know it, after nine days in my new lifestyle…..I had my first period in over two years. Oh. Em. Geeeee.
Now, yes – I did lose some weight during those nine days, but it was a small amount.
I can’t tell you exactly what it was that put my body into a state of improved health; but I am convinced it was the suggestions from all the different areas ph360 and SHAE cover in their 360 degree-of-life approach.
At the end of the day, what really matters is that I received health results beyond my health goal of just losing weight. And I couldn’t be more thrilled.
#shaelife, once again 🙂
